A Short Walk That Is Not Worth Taking
The nearest station is often only a mile or two away, which is exactly what makes people set off on foot along a road with no pavement. Carrying a can back along a dual carriageway in the dark is a worse idea than it sounds, and most roadside cans are not rated for the job anyway.
We bring petrol or diesel in proper containers, put in enough to get you comfortably to a station, and make sure the engine actually catches before we leave. If the vehicle still will not start, the problem was never the fuel and we will tell you so.
Petrol or diesel
Tell dispatch which one when you call. Putting the wrong fuel in is a far more expensive afternoon than running out of the right one.
Highway shoulders included
US-31, US-421, SR-37, SR-32 and I-69 are all routine. Our drivers set up with beacons and cones before approaching the filler.
We wait for the restart
Diesels sometimes need a moment to clear air from the line. Nobody drives off until your engine is running properly.
Three Things and We Are Moving
Dispatch needs very little to get a van rolling toward you.
01
Your position
A junction number, a mile marker, the business you are parked outside. Anything that puts a driver within sight of you.
02
Which fuel
Petrol or diesel, and roughly how long the car has been sitting. The flat rate is confirmed on this same call.
03
Filled and on your way
Enough in the tank to reach a station comfortably, with a bit of margin for the traffic between you and it.
